Since July 2014 Eva Maydell is a Member of the European Parliament as a representative of GERB and EPP. She is a President of the European Movement International (EMI) – the largest umbrella body for civil society groups and associations in Europe and co-founder of Education Bulgaria 2030 Association.

Eva’s Parliamentary work focuses mainly on improving the quality of education for young people, expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs and promoting technology and digitalization. She is a member of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), as well as the trade delegations to the People’s Republic of China and the United States. She is also the sole Bulgarian representative on the Committee for Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON).

As the EP’s rapporteur on the New Skills Agenda Eva Maydell worked to ensure that policies are applicable and relevant across the Union and to address the Europe-wide disconnect between what students are taught at school and what the labour market requires of them. Eva Maydell is an ambassador for the E-skills for Jobs. The campaign is raising awareness of how important digital skills are for one’s employability. She also supports EE-HUB, a pan-European entrepreneurship education network of experts, business-people and politicians and Coder Dojo – a global project making coding accessible to young people aged 6 to 16. Finally, she is heavily involved with the annual European Code Week.
